WAFA Open 3 on 24 & 25 July

With AFF#3 just over 2 weeks away, the WAFA open may have slipped under people’s radar. It’s on this weekend, with Epee (9:00) and Sabre (1:00) on Saturday and Foil (9:00) on Sunday. Venue is the usual Belmont location.

Entries for the ‘Be Active’ WA International Fencing Tournament (AFF #3) are due in this week. Team entries are due by Wednesday 14 July, individual entries by Saturday 17 July. Local Sporting Champions Program

The Federal Government offers grants to young athletes through the Local Sporting Champions program. This program is designed to provide financial assistance towards the cost of travel, accommodation, uniforms or equipment for participation in approved competitions. Refereeing Sessions

FIE-qualified international-standard referee Steven Lim will be conducting basic refereeing sessions on the next couple of Tuesday sessions at Excalibur. This coming Tuesday 23 March, Steven will be covering Sabre.

Please note that Belmont City College is unavailable for competition in the morning of 13 Mar 2010. Accordingly we will trial using the Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre (next door) for the epee competition. The sabre tournament will continue as per usual at Belmont City College in the afternoon.
