February Updates for Fencing 2021
Hello Members and Fencers,
Welcome back to the 2021 fencing year!
We hope that you have had a good break over December and January and are looking forward to getting back to fencing. The sudden lockdown imposed by the WA state government has impacted our start date for 2021 and in the interest of our well-being we are planning on re-starting next week as follows (subject to Fremantle College confirming use of the venue next week - we will send out a follow-up communication to let you know):
Monday 8th February for the high-performance group
Tuesday and Friday 9th and 12th February respectively for the general group
Saturday 13th February with the kids' groups, including the newly formed Sabre Cubs.
Please note that some form of Covid19 restrictions are still in place, so please take note of this advice when attending sessions at the club
If you are sick or displaying any symptoms, please stay home
No handshakes after or before bouts
No sharing of gear. If club gear is borrowed, we will sanitize the equipment after use. Used equipment is to be segregated after training
Once membership fees are paid for the term/year fencers may borrow jackets, plastrons, gloves and masks for the term/year if they sign it out.
Keep to the 4 sq m and 1.5m physical distancing rule
Anyone above 12 years must wear a face mask. This includes whilst fencing (underneath fencing mask).
The above will be in place until we receive any further directives from the relevant authorities.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out at excaliburfencing@gmail.com
See all of you soon!
Kind Regards,
Excalibur Community Fencing Club
